Homemade Roasted Thanksgiving Day Turkey with all the Sides.jpg

Plump, juicy, and filling the house with the delicious aroma of the holidays. There is nothing like adorning the Thanksgiving table with one of our wholesome, naturally grown, farm fresh turkeys. The only thing better than that, is experiencing the joy and wonder that comes with raising your own beautiful flock of turkeys! Either way, we have you covered.

We raise two types of non-GMO heritage breeds - Bourbon Reds and Royal Palms. We also seasonally grow out (to process, not for breed stock) non-GMO white broad-breasted turkeys for those customers who prefer to cook what is currently, typically sold in grocery stores. All of our turkeys are raised here on the farm, hand processed and packaged. These make wonderful holiday gifts for friends and family as well.

We are now accepting deposits for our 2024 Thanksgiving turkeys - through April 30th.

Call us at (907) 746-1519 to get your name on our list. $30 deposit required at time of order. Can be paid via PayPal, Venmo, or drop off cash at the farm. Pick up your fresh turkey on Tuesday, November 21st, 2023.

Pay balance, based on final weight, at pick up - $5/lb. Weights will vary.

****Rare - Listed as "Watch" status with the Livestock Conservancy.

A heritage breed, Bourbon Red turkeys were the traditional mainstay Thanksgiving turkey in America during the 20th century. Named after Bourbon County in Kentucky, they are known for their unique reddish coloring. Though not as big, or fast growing, as some of the new hybrid turkeys being used in commercial settings in the USA now,  they are are a delicious delicacy during the holidays and well worth the wait. Additionally, newer hyrbids are unable to reproduce due to their ill health and fast weight gain. Bourbon Reds can be bred and raised by anyone and are, thus, quickly regaining popularity again among homesteaders! They are terrific foragers in a free range setting. They are a curious and generally very friendly breed. Toms average about 33lbs, and hens 18lbs, when they are fully grown at about 28 weeks of age (7 months), when they are ready for slaughter. We love our Bourbon Reds. They are fun to watch and interact with. The toms make a "drumming" sound when they puff up and put all their feathers out. Kids absolutely love to watch and listen to them gobble gobble!!
